Updates to the Netherlands fate and behaviour evaluation manual

The pesticides regulatory authority in the Netherlands, the Ctgb, has updated the leaching and surface water chapters of its fate and behaviour manual for national assessments (version 2.1/2.2D).

Changes to the leaching chapter include the requirement for a leaching assessment for glasshouse mushroom cultivation. First-tier assessments should use FOCUS PEARL. GEOPEARL should be used if a higher-tier assessment is triggered.

Changes to the surface water chapter include amended spray drift tables and the stipulation of a 95% mitigation level in greenhouse waste water for organic active substances. In addition, EFSA guidance on assessing emissions from protected crops should now be followed rather than using the previous default greenhouse emissions value of 0.1%.
