Rachael has a BSc in biochemistry with clinical biochemistry and an MSc in toxicology. After graduating in 2002, she worked at Unilever, involved in the safety assessment of food contact materials, food flavourings and hair care and home care products.
In 2005, Rachael began working as a Study Director at leading Contract Research Organisations, responsible for the design, conduct and reporting of a range of in vitro genetic toxicology studies and in vitro cytotoxicity and phototoxicity studies. She was also validated new assay types and computer systems. In 2017, Rachael moved into the regulatory field, where she was involved in data gap analyses and writing robust study summaries for REACH and biocides.
In her spare time, Rachael enjoys walking with her family in the local area and further afield. Rachael has recently rediscovered ballet after doing this for many years as a child. She is also an avid member of her local Women’s Institute and loves making jam and marmalade for her friends and family to consume.
