Claire has 10 years’ experience providing regulatory and strategic advice to companies in the chemicals industry. After gaining a BSc Degree in Industrial Biology from the Institute of Technology, Carlow (Ireland), Claire undertook a PhD in Molecular Genetics at University College Cork (Ireland) developing diagnostic markers for use in breeding potatoes resistant to potato cyst nematodes.
In 2008, Claire moved into regulatory affairs and joined an Irish consultancy where she gained experience of the EU regulatory processes and registration requirements for industrial chemicals (REACH), plant protection products (PPP) and biocidal products (BPR). In 2010, she joined another consultancy as a regulatory specialist where she gained extensive experience in the biocides area. She managed a wide range of projects and supported clients in providing regulatory and scientific advice on registration strategy, identification of data gaps, dossier preparation and submission and liaison with regulatory authorities to obtain active substance and product approvals.
In her spare time, Claire enjoys long walks in the Irish countryside. She also enjoys taking yoga classes and trying out new cooking recipes.
