CRD have issued a Regulatory Update to advise applicants of a change in the data required to support a convenience tank mix listed on the product label. This does not change the requirements for positive tank mixes, for acetolactate synthase (ALS) herbicides or anticholinesterase products.
Convenience tank mixes
A convenience tank mix is the combination, by the user, of two or more pesticides in the same spray tank to reduce the number of spray operations.
No efficacy data are required to support applications for convenience tank-mixes. Evidence of physical and chemical compatibility continue to be required in line with EU guidance.
To reflect these changes, the Compatibility Assurance Statement (CAS) should be revised to remove any reference to efficacy and phytotoxicity testing. A template for the revised CAS is available.
This reduced requirement applies for all applications with immediate effect.
Other tank mix requirements are not altered by this change and remain as before.
For more information on tank mixing requirements or on any other regulatory issues, please contact JSC on +44 (0)1423 520245, enquiries@jsci.co.uk
