The Commission has launched a public consultation on two pieces of pesticide legislation – Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 on the approval of active substances and the placing of pesticides on the market, and Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 on pesticide residues in food and feed.

The consultation forms part of the evaluation of this legislation under the Commission’s Regulatory Fitness and Performance Programme (REFIT), which is being conducted under the Commission’s better regulation agenda.  More information about the consultation and access to the online questionnaire is available on the Commission’s website at: https://ec.europa.eu/info/consultations/public-consultation-refit-evaluation-eu-legislation-plant-protection-products-and-pesticide-residues_en

Responses should be submitted through the Commission’s website by 12 February 2018.

The Commission are also seeking the views of stakeholders, including Member States, applicants and other interested parties via focus group meetings. A representative from JSC has been invited to attend one of these meetings.
